When I first entered the Gallery- there was an exibit called Let there be light. Which was ironic because it was completely dark besides what the art light was giving off. The walls were black and were of a clothe like material. The element of this art would be line. Here is the image Light which is pretty cool because I used to used one of these light games when I was little.
The next artpiece was a portrait of an older woman on an off white wall kind of shaped like a hallway where this exhibit was. The lighting was not bring but not dark, on each end of this hallway the light was a little brighter. The image is bordered with a frame whick is black.
The last is an illusion/delusion Image which I thought was the most interesting one of all. I had to stand there for a very long time to see what the artist was trying to convey. I still do not really understand but I tried. This was made out of what it seemed like blocks of wood that were painted black and hung with string in this certain way. You can see that this light is very dull in the room with the off white walls. With only the light from the bottom and the very top which is why the artists made it this way so you couldnt see through the blocks that well.
These works of art were on different sides of the gallery. The illusion was all the way in the back and the portrait was in the middle of the gallery and the lights were before you entered the gallery(was a new collection).
To look at these images differently in the way they are put together and constructed is very different than really anything I have had to do. So, this took me a while to even get what I was suppose to be looking for. I enjoyed this gallery visit.
