Module 15- Critique Blog

1.     1. Which projects did you review?I reviewed the projects Any Landscape is a Condition of the Spirit, Aquarium of Niagara and Who run the world?
2. Why did you select the Exhibit you critiqued?I selected Any Landscape is a Condition of the Spirit because it clear to read and it was done most closely to how I completed my presentation.
3. What challenges did you face in writing the critique article and how did you overcome them? The challenge I had as to analyze the whole exhibit as a whole instead being able to analyze specific slides. I had to view the exhibit and look and read closely to what the artist had written about the art so that I could get a generalized idea about the whole exhibit.
4. How do you feel about critiquing your peers work? I didn’t not really like critiquing my peers because I do not know if I portrayed their idea correctly. Also, I am not an expert of artwork so I did not feel like I even had a place for doing so.
5. Would you like to read the critique your peers wrote about your Art Curation Project?I would like to see what my peers said to see if they had the same perspective I had.
6. On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your finished article and why?I would rate my article a 7, I rated it this because I completed the steps of critiquing to the best of my ability.
7. Did you enjoy working on this project? I did enjoy creating my project because it was something that I enjoyed before this class so being able to incorporate the two was fun.

Module 15:Video Review

Videos Viewed: Greenburg on Art Criticism:An Interview by T.J. Clark & Jackson Pollack:Michael Fried and T.J. Clark in Conversation.

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
Greenburg discusses perception as being something that everyone has to get used to not using when they arelooking at art. He said to place limits on nothing is what we need to do and to keep everthing relevant is the key to being a good critic of art.
Freid and Clark had two different perspectives on modern art. Fried thought that it was more important to think about art as a individuality persective. On the other hand Clark looked at the art as more of a historical sense. All  three artists did express energy being one of the key aspects of art that needs to representative. Energy is something that they can see and feel while looking at the art.
2. Do the videos relate to the creation of your Art Criticism project? If yes, explain how. If no, explain why not.
I believe that these videos gave good reference on what to start thinking about when I view other individuals art creation projects.
3. What is your opinion of the films? Do they add depth to understanding of art criticism?
My opinion of these films are that one they are informative to the viewer however, I would of liked to hear more about how they got to where they could be critics. I guess the explainations of the art was unclear to me. They have way more experience that me in viewing the art, I would have liked to hear how they came to the information to begin with.

Art Curator Experience Blog- Project 4

My first step into completing this project was to first figure out what Art Curator meant. Through the videos and Google helped me understand what the definition was. Now, I had to figure out what I wanted to create in my Exhibit. I decided that I will go with something I know and that is sports. My theme was For The Love Of The Game. After I got the hang of what I should be looking for and how I wanted to represent my idea. I thought this project was very exciting and fun to do. It was different to look at the pieces of art differently now since the beginning of the class. I actually see the principles and elements and can explain them. To do this project on something that I knew was also very fun, because their are so many art figures that I wanted to put into my exhibit I had to pick and chose.
