Project #2 Visit to Abright- Knox Art Museum

1. The images that made the most impact on me are Hotel Lobby and Expanded Production. These two are very different images and settings but both had me stop to think about them. The Hotel Lobby is from 1950 and this made me look close at the faces then I noticed the caption, which is exactly what I was thinking. I could tell by the images people were not happy but I could not put a place with the faces. I really liked how there is so much emotion in the image after I read the caption I looked again. This was a great capture of the atmosphere.  I did the same thing with the Expanded Horizon image tried to understand the image without the caption from the artist. This to me looked like a place to show art work, like a creativity room. By the caption this is a metaphoric piece of work seeing that it says production room but no one is shown in the image. I liked the colors on the ceiling which I believe the sky is the limit because all colors are shown at the ceiling.
2. Two works of art that I felt a connection with were Baby Girl and The Hispanic Project. I felt a connection with the Baby Girl wood media because I am a mother of a baby girl and they are a huge responsibility and this indicates they are a larger than your own life. The Hispanic Project made me have a connection with this because it shows that everyone wants to fit in. When I was younger I felt like I needed to fit in with all the other girls so I changed who I was by doing just that, changing my hair, clothes and the way I carried myself. But once I got older I found out that you need to be comfortable with who you are and you dont need to change at all for anyone.
3. The two works of art that I want to know more about are Kill Yourself and Seaman's Belt, because both of these are such large topics in the history of America. Especially the Kill Yourself, there is so much influence in the world and media that we see. What does this image represent? The Seaman's Belt I want to know more about the  racial inequality, does this image represent the quality of life he had?

Logo Design

1. I loved creating the logos it was fun to design something's  that interested me. It  was difficult to pick out what I wanted to do because I like so many things but it was a new experience.
2. The first thing was to  think about what I could create into a logo  that  isn't already out there in the world. I thought about all the things I liked and picked sports because that was the easiest for me.also my last name does help being its a sports  brand already.
3. The most important discovery was  that it is difficult to make the logo related to what you want it too without words..
4.  I learned from the  bottled up video what even tho their product evolved they had to somehow incorporate  the product that has been around for over 100years. They needed to make it similar to what the original was but different at the same time. And that can be very difficult Logos

Exploring Value and Color

I thought creating the color wheel and the grey scale was a good starting block of where we need to start at the very begging before we can creat something we want. I enjoyed working with the colors the most because it was a way to make me feel like a kid again that I was mixing things together and making something different. Nowadays if we are not in this kind of field then we dont do "fun" or creative things like that. The most important discovery is that you need to know the basics of color to get to the vibrant fun colors we all have now. In the videos that we watched I learned that art is not something that is easy. There are specific and critical moments that happened in history that makes it possible to even have pictures and patterns and colors. It is truly a discover.Wheel and Scale

Project #1 Photobucket Experience

The elements and principles was actually very enjoyable to complete. I love taking pictures and especially of random things so I used many of the random picture to show those elements and principles in my slideshow. Even thought it did take me reading the definitions of them a few times and being able to capture an image that would correspond well with it. Overall it was a very simple process to create a photobucket account and upload pictures.Elements and Principles

Thank you

Color and Emotions

1.       Color is what we feel; it is what we see and how we react to it. For example color is in our lives every day. The human feeling could be response to different color and can change at any second. The feelings are depicted through the shapes, lines of the colors.

2.       I think Color Theory is the most interesting to me was the actual fact of “all colors are dependent on light, and no object possesses color intrinsically.  I think it is interesting because without the color the world would be so different we would take a whole new perspective on the images we see on our day to day lives.

3.       In the Color video I thought it was awesome that when the women went to Venice and instead of using a very popular vantage place she picks a back alley way. She used so many deep colors to convey how bright the light reflects of the surfaces. The color red is really suppose to feel dark and negative but the way she uses them really makes her love the painting.

4.       In the first image of the video made me really look at the colors and how it really imposes someone thought on the painting.

AED 200- Module 2 Learning Art

1. In the videos I learned that there are a lot of different aspects of art that are very important . Lines are the first thing that an artist does but in the end you see none for the most part because the artist usually uses colors to make the outlining not so prevelent. In the video of neurology discussed about how the eye works and performs is the essence of how all the art is formed.

2. Platos thought of aesthetics is the most important to me because he not only discusses the fact the art needs to be beautiful but it also needs to be important to the society as a whole. Like for example the video was talking about a painting during a war. While this 14th century artist was not in good times the painting explains what really was happening then, so the end piece because now centuries later we can see this art and internalize it.

3.Changeux was very hard for me to get past his accent I listened to his video 3 times. All I could get from him was that there is conscience and non conscience looking at art, where you really understand the art and your brain is surprised and you will not be bored. Ramachandran was impressive to me the one aspect I got from his presentation was that he stated the charaicature is sometimes better for the brain to see the art better than the original photo.

4.the article and the videos tie in some aspects in the book reading as an example line and colors and shadows. They give more examples of these aspects of art.

5.I liked the first film about aesthetics because it really was interesting and went in depth about what it was and gave examples. The second film Changeux was very hard to understand so I didn't get very much from him but RAmachandran was actually very entertaining he was funny but very knowledgeable about Indian art. They added depth to the reading by teaching me how to look at are to be able to get the most out of it in your mind.
